Project Overview

Baïdy Coffee Roaster is an interior design project conceived as a sensory and immersive coffee experience in Dakar.

Working within a compact footprint, the project explores how materiality, light and spatial composition can create a calm yet distinctive hospitality environment.

Japandi influences meet a mineral architectural language through textured concrete, warm wood and soft lighting. Seating, niches, arches and circulation are carefully composed to maximize the space while creating moments of intimacy, pause and interaction.

Design Approach

The design responds to the constraints of a compact space by treating every element as part of the spatial experience.

Rather than separating function from atmosphere, circulation, seating and architectural details work together to create a fluid interior. Curved openings and niches soften the mineral character of the space, while warm timber elements and controlled lighting introduce tactility and comfort.

The result is a restrained contemporary environment where architecture supports both the ritual of coffee and the everyday interactions around it.
